Well you probably do and even if you don't and just appreciate motorcycles, you probably realise that it was the most exciting of times.

Forget flared trousers and glam rock and remember when the Japanese manufacturers burst onto the scene with exciting new designs and colour schemes. In a decade, we travelled from sometimes rather predictable twins to three, four and ultimately six cylinder engines with multiple camshafts and torque only dreamed of in the previous decades.

Japanese motorcycles are the fastest growing sector of the two-wheeled classic market. As we move into the second decade of the 21st century, what will be the next generation of classics?
